In chess, you also need preparation against the White pieces. 

Luckily, you can follow some of the same principles I've shown you, and learn some defenses that'll make your life easier. 

In this study, we'll see the symmetrical 1. e4 e5 opening and the Sicilian Defense.

This is White's idea. 

They want to open the position up.

There are many ideas for White in the Sicilian.

And you can play 5...d6 to open up your c8-bishop. 

In the Italian, you'll be safe, develop your pieces early, and prepare timely pawn breaks.

White usually plays what's called the Open Sicilian.

In our case, we'll want to adopt this solid setup with the pawns on e6 and d6, Be7 and 0-0.

At some point, getting the rook to the c8-square is a good idea. In the Open Sicilian, Black has to put major pieces on the c-file.

The first thing you could play is 1...e5. 

You're controlling the d4-square.

You can do the same to support your pawn.

I suggest you can play the Sicilian. 

The most popular line for White isn't the Alapin, and you can also study the Alapin from both colors when you explore that opening with White.

We develop our queenside knight to follow the principle of knights before bishops.

This is the same opening we saw in the Study from White's POV. 

This is the Italian Opening.
